Low foaming surfactants JS-NF series

JSNF-10 and JSNF-25 are low foaming anionic surfactants which are soluble in concentrated alkaline builder solutions. These products differ in their degree of electrolyte tolerance but each provides excellent detergency characteristics. They are recommended for use in spray, soak tank, in-place pipeline cleaners and floor scrubbing formulations.

Features

JS-NF Series display the solubility characteristics of ionic surfactants in alkaline builder concentrates but, when diluted, they exhibit nonionic cloud point behavior. They offer the following advantages:
vSoluble in concentrated alkali solutions    vNon-foaming above solution cloud point
vQuick solubilization         vRapid wetting              vSuperior detergency

Solubility

The solubilities of JS- NF10 and NF25 are dependent upon both surfactant content and concentration of alkaline builders in liquid formulations. Such concentrates and their diluted solutions will display typical nonionic cloud point behavior.
In formulating liquid detergent concentrates, JS- NF surfactants can easily be added to alkaline builder solutions. They will mix in instantly requiring no time consuming reaction period.

Foaming properties

Dilute solutions of JS-NF surfactants containing various detergents builders will be virtually non-foaming when evaluated at temperatures in excess of the solution cloud point. Foaming will decrease with increasing temperature and builder content. The data demonstrates that, even at low temperature, the JS-NF surfactants provide low foam.

Surface tension and wetting

All three JS-NF surfactants provide effective surface tension reduction in alkaline builder solutions. At concentrations in excess of their critical micelle concentrations, surface tensions in the range of 32-24 dynes/cm are achieved at 25°C. This degree of surface activity promotes rapid textile and hard surface wetting

Detergency

The compositions for the JS-NF products have been optimized to maximize detergency, low foaming characteristics and electrolyte tolerance. This combination  of properties makes these JS-NF surfactants particularly suitable for use in spray detergents and floor scrubbing formulations.
