It is a colorless transparent liquid, bp 190-191°C, d425 1.059, nD20 1.4173, and soluble in water, alcohol and benzene. Pure product has stable chemical properties, but gradually decompose after absorbing moisture. It is biodegradable, is a low-toxicity and environment-friendly product.

Uses:

It is widely used as solvent in ink, paint, plastic and perfume industry. For example, as retardant solvent in automobile baked paint, as solvent in phenolic resin baked coating.

as coagulant in water-soluble and solvent-type coating, cleaning agent for polyester resin equipment and solidifying agent for central sand used in foundry industry.

This product has very strong antibacterial and antifungal action, effective to gram positive and negative bacteria.

It can be used as intermediate in organic synthesis.
